Presentation Guide lines:
Michael: Hello all! Welcome to our presentation. My name’s Michael and I would like to introduce you to“Park u”, a system that will make Parking a lot easier. Before I start, I would like to introduce our team .. this is Monica, Luiz , jess and Gwillian.
Presentation Begins:
Michael: Parking has become a common issue for everyone that owns a car. Whether you park frequently or not, finding a car park has become a frustrating and time waster task . Park U is the solution.
“Park U” is a system that allows a user to find the number of vacancies in car park prior driving to its location. It makes parking easier, less frustrating and saves you time so you can spend your precious time on things that really matter.
We developed an interesting system which allows the user to know if it’s worth wasting driving to a car park building. Sometimes a car park has none or just a few spots left making the trip to a car park unsatisfying or even useless.
Through a website or an iPhone app, we not only present the best options for parking, we also show a route planner ( the best fastest route to get to the user’s destination) discount and vouchers of businesses around the location the person intends to park, as well as the an easier way to pay for parking ( have you ever ran out of change and could not pay for parking? – having to get some coins it’s not just a hassle, it’s a time waster!) , well we sorted that out too). Our system also includes an easy payment method. It’s called “Park u Card” … it’s top up card where you can refill it with credits and save you time when you have to pay for parking.
Luiz will soon show how the technology works, but for now I will present how the system works by the user point of view.
· Graphics, example ( henry “case study ) etc.
· Website sample page
Now I would like Luiz to explain how the technology works .
Luiz: the system is quite simple. We have basic components that send data to the website via a local computer workstation in the car park building. Nowadays any car park building has a local PC. All we need is a computer connected to internet to send data to the website ( which is also our system).
Besides the computer we need to components to make this idea possible. A wireless IRFD motion sensor and a bar code scanner. Both placed in the entrance and exit of a car park building. A bar code scanner and a motion tracker are very cheap devices costing under a 100 dollars each.
In our system the motion tracker checks when any car enters or leaves the car park . That data is sent to the website in real time in order to calculate the number of available vacancies of that specific car park. The whole system works wirelessly avoiding any extra costs with wring and hardware setup. Two sensors will be placed in each entrance and exit of the car park . the motion sensor ( to calculate who leaves and who enters the car park) as well as the bar code scanner.. if you have a park u card , all you need to do is scan you card when you enter and when you leave avoiding any hassle with finding change, credit card or other inconvenience for paying for parking.
Monica will now show our target marketing
Monica: As it was mentioned before car park has become a frustrating task. This frustration is shared by everyone that owns a car and needs to park. This is our target marketing. Whether you park frequently or occasionally we want to make this process a lot easier. NZ statistics show that in the past three decades the number of vehicles in the wellington region has increased by 40%. These numbers demonstrate the urgency for a system that allows a more convenient way to finding a car park. According to our own survey more than 70% of people answered they would use a system that would make parking easier.
Benefits to Car park building (target audience by the business point of view)
Monica: For the car parking building owners is a good way to increase revenue by intensifying profits by selling park u cards, as well as making a percentage over the amount of money a user spends in the building using a park u card. Moreover the majority of car parks are becoming self-service. An easy payment system would greatly reduce the time to facing the hassle of finding change or paying extra fees if you’re using a credit card.
PS: we need to discuss that with Max on Monday to make sure we have the right strategy to “convince” car park building owners to come on board.
Benefits Local businesses:
For business around car park areas is a good way to showcase them and also increase the stream of costumers. Explain they will also sell our card and they make a profit by selling them . you can choose to just introduce this part as Gwillian will present that more in details .
SHOW INFOR GRAPHIC, examples OR WHATEVER NECESSARY (if necessary)
Gwillian will now explain the competition and competitive positioning.
Gwillian: Explains how other websites use free services “as Google maps” in a shallow way. All they do its show places where you can park –they are basically a map to direct you to a car park. (without showing you the number of vacancies or even giving the best route to get to the place quicker . (route, planner, number of vacancies, “txt me every 5-10-20 minutes for example if the vacancies have changed drastically” business differs from others. .for example: it’s easy to find a car park building online ( whether via Google map, or car park buildings web sites) we are offering a complete package , route planner, number of vacancies, as well as vouchers and discounts around the area when the person intends to park .
Another point: bringing local businesses around the car park areas on board, not just show case them in our website or bring more costumers to their establishments by offering discounts and vouchers but also allow them to make a profit by selling the “park u “ card.
How easy to would it be to get into the market ?
How easy would be .. etc
*I’m not very familiar with this area.
Now I would like to pass the word to Jess who will show the costs and profits of our business.
Jess: We have a total cost to start our business of “?????”
We plan to start making a profit in “that period of time – say how long it’s gonna take)
Also explain how we make a profit ( selling cards, charging support for the hardware and website, monthly renting of our equipment, selling apps, as well as selling data from users to third party businesses – statists).
Selling the park u card for example will make us a profit of “ ????” for each sold card.
Bla blab la
That’s all folks
Hope it helps
The slide one stuff was in the interim; not sure if we need it again but its there if we do
& the graph is for slide 3
